Hello,
Subway service will be suspended on Line 2 between Jane and Ossington stations on July 15 and 16 for TTC track and other maintenance upgrades. The work is essential to maintain and improve subway reliability. At its peak, approximately 40 to 50 shuttle buses will operate on Bloor Street between Jane and Ossington stations during the closure. Regular subway service resumes on Monday, July 17 at 6 a.m.
This is the only subway closure of this section in 2017.
Parking restrictions on Bloor Street – July 15 and 16
During subway closures, a frequent shuttle bus service is provided. However, without on-street parking restrictions, transit and traffic will be exceptionally congested. During the April 9/10, 2016 subway closure of Line 2 when parking was restricted on Bloor between Bathurst and Jane, shuttle buses took on average 25 minutes each direction. During off-peak hours, shuttle buses moved even better. In comparison, TTC observed in 2015 that shuttle buses took up to 34 minutes on Bloor Street between St George and Keele stations (a much shorter closure distance) with parking on the street.
To effectively and safely move our thousands of customers and to keep roads moving generally for all, on-street parking restrictions on both sides of Bloor Street between Jane Street and Ossington Avenue will be in effect between 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 12:01 a.m. Monday.
Please see attached notice for further information.
Thank you,
